GoodnewsEverybody.com Asian- Malaysian

There is a professor at UMM from this country, who is probably the first one I met from this nation. I (Sal) went to Chicago's "China Town", where I went to a good Malaysian restaurant-first ever in my lifetime. It felt like I was actually in this country as this restaurant had the whole cultural influence.

I decided to do this website (Tuesday, November 8th of 2005) as I've grown an interest in the "world's tallest" building...

  • Malaysian Internal Security Ministry bans missionary‘s book on Islam By Michael Ireland Chief Correspondent, ASSIST News Service Monday, February 4, 2008

  • "VENTURA, CALIFORNIA (ANS) -- Don Richardson, author of Peace Child, Lords of the Earth and Eternity in Their Hearts, has been studying the Muslim world for over 30 years. He and his wife, Carol, spent 15 years among the Sawi, a Stone Age tribe of Irian Jaya. ..
A media release says Richardson is no novice when it comes to Islam. He spent fifteen years in Indonesia (the world’s most populous Muslim country) and has studied Islam for thirty years. Far from being an offbeat group, networks like al-Qaeda actually represent true Islam.
Richardson identifies 109 Koranic verses, which encourage war, violence, and destruction. Instead of branding Islam as a “peace-loving religion” hijacked by fanatics, he believes we need to see recent atrocities as a by-product of its belief system. ...
Said Reza Safa, an ex-Shiite radical Muslim and author of Inside Islam: “We must have the facts because the lives of millions of people depend upon our assessment. The Islam that Mohammad proclaimed in the seventh century is something for all of us to take a closer look at because that version of Islam is more violent and has more resolve than what many might think.”..
While in Irian Jaya, Richardson designed an alphabet suited to the Sawi language, authored 19 primers, taught the tribesmen to read in their native tongue and translated the entire New Testament. More than half of the Sawi accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. ...

  • "During the late 18th and 19th centuries, Great Britain established colonies and protectorates in the area of current Malaysia; these were occupied by Japan from 1942 to 1945. In 1948, the British-ruled territories on the Malay Peninsula formed the Federation of Malaya, which became independent in 1957. Malaysia was formed in 1963 when the former British colonies of Singapore and the East Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak on the northern coast of Borneo joined the Federation. The first several years of the country's history were marred by Indonesian efforts to control Malaysia, Philippine claims to Sabah, and Singapore's secession from the Federation in 1965. During the 22-year term of Prime Minister MAHATHIR bin Mohamad (1981-2003), Malaysia was successful in diversifying its economy from dependence on exports of raw materials, to expansion in manufacturing, services, and tourism."

  • Disaster relief group with good contacts on the ground in Myanmar gearing up for humanitarian relief efforts By Michael Ireland Chief Correspondent, ASSIST News Service Wednesday, May 7, 2008

  • "MYANMAR (BURMA) (ANS) -- In 2000 the World Health Organization ranked Myanmar's overall health care system as the second worst in the world. With the occurrence of Cyclone Nargis, that health system in under enormous pressure.
Humanitarian International Services Group (HISG), based in Englewood, Colorado, says medicine and medical supplies are much needed. Food is another need, as prices have skyrocketed, with some staples tripling in cost.
"Many communities desperately need clean water and water purifiers because thousands of displaced people are living in close quarters where infectious diseases are easily spread. There is also an urgent need for tents and other temporary shelters for all the families whose homes have been destroyed," HISG states.
HISG is requesting help for the people suffering from the damage done by Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar. Anyone interested in contributing either gift-in-kind or monetary donations can contact them here www.hisg.org/contact.php or donate securely online here: www.hisg.org/donations.php
Affected Population: The cyclone hit the Southeast Asian nation early Saturday morning, and more than 22,000 people have been confirmed dead. Another 41,000 people are missing and at least 1 million people have been forced out of their homes. Many observers expect the death toll to continue to rise because some of the hardest hit areas along the Irrawaddy River are still inaccessible. "

  • "The ancestors of the people that now inhabit the Malaysian peninsula first migrated to the area between 2500 and 1500 B.C. Those living in the coastal regions had early contact with Chinese and Indians; seafaring traders from India brought with them Hinduism, which was blended with the local animist beliefs. As Muslims conquered India, they spread the religion of Islam to Malaysia. In the 15th century A.D., Islam acquired a firm hold on the region when the Hindu ruler of the powerful city-state of Malacca, Parameswara Dewa Shah, converted to Islam."

  • "Although politically dominated by the Malays, modern Malaysian society is heterogeneous, with substantial Chinese and Indian minorities.[4] Malaysian politics have been noted for their allegedly communal nature;[5] the three major component parties of the Barisan Nasional each restrict membership to those of one ethnic group. However, the only major intercommunal violence the country has seen since independence was the May 13 racial riots of 1969 that occurred in the wake of an election campaign that was dominated by racial issues.[6]"

  • Testimony of Yahya , from answering-islam.org

  • "I was born and raised as a Muslim in Malaysia. My father made sure that I was brought up in Islamic ways. At the early age, I was taught to obey the five pillars of Islam (the 'shadat', (profession of faith), solat, fasting during ramadan, 'zakat' (give alms), and pilgrimage to Mecca, and recite the Quran (in arabic). Religious classes in both primary and secondary schools were mandatory for Muslim students. The Malaysian government did an excellent job in providing islamic education to the Muslims. It also made it easy and convenient for Malaysian Muslims to practice their faith. All through my childhood and teenage years, I faithfully carried out my Muslim duties to God (Allah) by obeying His laws. However, I felt spiritually unfulfilled. No matter how many good deeds I did, I was never sure whether Allah is pleased. During my trials and tribulation, I cried out to Allah but He seemed distant and impersonal. ...
I began to read the Bible. As I was reading, I felt comfortable with Isa Al-Masih's teachings - filled with love, compassion, mercy, and grace. Throughout the Gospel (as I was only reading the New Testament), the message was clear: God loves us very much. I also found out that Isa Al-Masih is the Son of God and that He came to earth as a man to die for our sins....
That night, I repented of my sins and asked Isa Al-Masih to be my Lord and Savior. I felt peace in my soul after that. Until today, I have no regrets of my decision to let Isa Al-Masih rule my life. I am now married with 3 kids. Eventhough life is not a bed of roses, God's promises are for real. Psalm 23:4 "Eventhough I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for YOU are with me". He is with me and strengthens me through trials and tribulation. God's love for me is unconditional and because He loves me first and I am loving him back with all my heart, soul, and mind..."
